Vermont State Senior 5K/10K Championships

Description of Event: Racevermont.com and Shelburne Health & Fitness are proud to be hosting the 2012 Vermont State Senior 5K/10K Championships. This race is open to anyone who will be 50 years or older as of December 31, 2012 and is a qualifying race for the 2013 National Senior Olympics in Cleveland, Ohio.  Beginning and ending at Shelburne Health & Fitness at The Field House in Shelburne, Vermont, this 5K is an out-and-back race along the historic Ti-path whereas the 10K travels down the Ti-path and then alongside Shelburne Farms before returning to Shelburne Health & Fitness.  Feel free to bring a towel and shower in the health club after the awards ceremony.
Date of Event: Saturday, June 9, 2012
Distance: 5K (3.1 miles) or 10K (6.2 miles)
Start Time: 10:00 am
Registration Time: Please pre-register by June 6.  Race day registration will be open from 9:00 – 9:45 am.
Directions to Race: From the north: Take Route 7 south until you are in the village of Shelburne, Vermont. Take a right onto Harbor Road (in the center of Sheburne – Mobil will be on your right).  Follow Harbor Road over the railroad tracks.  Turn right onto Athletic Drive and follow to Shelburne Health & Fitness (in the big blue building).  From the south: Take Route 7 north until you are in the village of Shelburne, Vermont. Take a left onto Harbor Road (in the center of Sheburne – you’ll see Mobil will be on your left).  Follow Harbor Road over the railroad tracks.  Turn right onto Athletic Drive and follow to Shelburne Health & Fitness (in the big blue building).

Cost: $25 pre-registered by June 6, 2011.  $30 on race day.
Awards: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Male 5K Finisher within each age group
1st, 2nd, and 3rd Female 5K Finisher within each age group
1st, 2nd, and 3rd Male 10K Finisher within each age group
1st, 2nd, and 3rd Female 10K Finisher within each age group
There will also be a post-race raffle. Winners will be chosen randomly be the computer from all registered racers. Registrants must be present to win.
