Sprint Triathlon III & Vermont Senior Sprint Tri – USAT Sanctioned

| Description of Event: | Enjoy the beauty of Vermont as you swim, bike and run to and from Shelburne Beach on Lake Champlain. The tri begins with a rectangular swim at Shelburne Beach. The lake is shallow for this swim and is monitored by race volunteers and/or lifeguards on several boats along the course. Following is and out-and-back bike ride and a run past scenic Shelburne Orchards. Family and friends can cheer you on from Shelburne Beach while little ones play at the playground there. Enjoy a BBQ or picnic afterward as there are BBQ’s and tables at the town beach.Choose to particate in either the Sprint Triathlon III division or the Vermont Senior Games division (open to anyone who will be at least 50 years of age by December 31, 2012). The Vermont Senior Games division is a qualifier for the 2013 National Senior Olympics in Cleveland, Ohio. |

| Cost: | Please note that registration fees are non-refundable and not transferable. Sprint Tri III: $50 plus $12 if you are not a USAT member Vermont Senior Games: $67 plus $12 if you are not a USAT member.Proof of USAT membership is required at check-in unless the $12 day fee has been paid.Pre-registration closes on August 22, 2012. In the event that this race does not sell out, an additional $10 will be added to registration on race day. Event t-shirts (wicking) are available for an additional $20. Please register no later than August 3 if you would like to reserve a t-shirt. |
| Registration Information: | Click here to register for this event. Pre-registration including t-shirt orders will close on Friday, August 3, 2012. All other pre-registration closes Wednesday, August 22. If this race does not fill prior to the race, Race Day Registration will be available for an additional $10.
Registration and Check-In: 6:30 – 7:45 am. Check-in prior to race day will also be available at Fleet Feet Sports. Stay tuned for further details. Please note that ALL racers must produce a PHOTO ID when checking in. According to USAT, “NO ID, NO RACE, NO EXCEPTIONS”. USAT members must also have their USAT membership card with them. |

| Directions to Race: | From the north: Take Route 7 south until you are in the village of Shelburne, Vermont. Pass the Shelburne Museum on your right. Take the next right (at a light at the top of the hill) onto Bostwick Road. Follow Bostwick Road until it bears sharply to the left (approximately 2 miles). Turn right at the bend onto Beach Road and follow signs for parking.From the south: Take Route 7 north until you are in the village of Shelburne, Vermont. Take the left (at the first traffic light) onto Bostwick Road. Follow Bostwick Road until it bears sharply to the left (approximately 2 miles). Turn right at the bend onto Beach Road and follow signs for parking. |

| Awards: | Sprint Tri III: Men’s & Women’s Individual: 1st, 2nd & 3rd place plus 1st place in all age groups Vermont Senior Games Tri: 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place for all age groups Raffle prizes are awarded post-race to participants whose names are drawn randomly (must be present to win). |
