Description of Event: We are excited to bring to you the second of two USA Triathlon National Qualifying races.  The top 10% in each age group qualify for Age Group Nationals – Olympic distance race to be held in Burlington, Vermont on August 20, 2011.  For this race, you must either be a member of USAT or pay for a day fee.  Due to the nature of this race, relay teams will not be allowed.  There is a limit of 200 racers for this race.  Please register early as we do expect for this race to sell out. Enjoy the beauty of Vermont as you swim, bike and run to and from Shelburne Beach on Lake Champlain.  The tri begins with a rectangular swim at Shelburne Beach.  The lake is shallow for this swim and is monitored by race volunteers and/or lifeguards on several boats along the course.  Following is an out-and-back bike ride and a run past scenic Shelburne Orchards and back.  Family and friends can cheer you on from Shelburne Beach where little ones can play at the playground. Enjoy a BBQ or picnic afterward as there are grills and tables at the town beach.
