RaceVermont Spring Half Marathon, 5K & 10K


Description of Event: Each year we receive many wonderful comments regarding the beauty of the course used for this half marathon. As always it will take you through some of the area’s most picturesque scenery including the historic Ti Trail, Shelburne Bay and Lake Champlain.We’ve decided to also offer a 5K and 10K race just moments before the half marathon.  The 5K/10K will either be an out and back or a loop, depending on the condition of the This race will be timed with chip timing and race medals will be awarded to all finishers.  There is a limit of 300 racers for this race.Kristin Camp and Kirsten Wiley will be offering Sports Massage at this race, integrating techniques learned at the Olympic Training Center Sports Medicine Hospital. The proceeds of this service go to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, and are by donation with a suggested fee of one dollar per minute.

Please note that this is a running event – No walkers please. The course time limit is 14 min/mile. 

Date of Event: Saturday, May 10, 2014; 8 am (the 5K and 10K runners will depart a few minutes before the half marathon race begins)
Distance: 3.1 miles, 6.2 miles, or 13.1 miles
Cost: If registered by May 7
5K/10K – $20
Half Marathon – $40Long-sleeved wicking shirts are available for $25 with registrations received by April 19.Race-day registration will be available for an additional $10 if this race does not fill ahead of time. Registration fee includes finisher medal for all half marathon runners.   
Check-in/Race Day Registration Time: Saturday, 6:45 – 7:40 am. Pre-race pickup will be available at Fleet Feet Sports in Essex Junction, VT on Friday, May 9.

Directions to Race: Take Route 7 north or south until you are in the village of Shelburne, Vermont.  From Route 7, turn west onto Harbor Road in the Village of Shelburne (you’ll be turning toward the Mobil Station).  Cross the railroad track and find Athletic Drive on the right hand side.  Turn onto Athletic Drive and follow to Shelburne Health & Fitness at The Field House.

Awards: Men’s 1st, 2nd & 3rd place in each division
Women’s 1st, 2nd & 3rd place in each division
Age group awards in each division
All half marathon finishers will receive a race medal.
Raffle prizes are awarded post-race to participants whose names are drawn randomly (must be present to win).
